Featured Project: City of Brentwood, TN

ExploreBrentwood.comThe city of Brentwood, Tenn., was looking for a way to use taxes collected from hotel visits to promote tourism and the community’s “buy local” efforts.

City officials decided to invest in a website that would serve as both a business directory and community guide for residents and visitors. The city’s goal was clear: Promote local businesses, particularly hotels, and encourage visitors and residents to spend money within the city limites. Every licensed business with a location in Brentwood has an opportunity for a free listing.

The city wanted more than a typical online directory. They wanted an attractive, content-rich and engaging website that was also functional, user-friendly and easy to maintain. Brentwood partnered with Journal Communications to design and develop a website that not only promotes local businesses but also emphasizes the city’s excellent quality of life.

“I have to stay current. I know that [with the site] I’m already bringing in those younger clients who are into green gardening and who use the internet to find their designer.”
Mary Higgins, owner of Lavender Blue Garden Design in Brentwood
